Email Security

What is it?

Anti-Impersonation

  • A common attack type which impersonates familiar brands or individuals in an effort, ultimately, to part you with your cash.

  • Anti-impersonation technologies including Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Machine Learning (ML) are employed to identify such attempts and warn or take action to neutralise the threat.

Anti-Malware

  • You can’t click or open a dangerous link or attachment if it never reaches your inbox.

  • Equally, ‘Time-of-Click’ scanning ensures threat actors can’t evade detection.

  • Potentially dangerous links/attachments are safely opened in a cloud ‘detonation chamber’, preventing potential damage.

  • Confirmed threats are then automatically removed from all other mailboxes, eradicating the threat from the business.

Why you need it...

  • In Q1 2022 alone, threat actors impersonating a vendor or an executive tricked 2 x Essex-based businesses into erroneously transferring well over £100k to criminals.

  • No amount of training is going to eliminate the risk of a capable, experienced adversary, who works each and every day to develop new and effective tactics, from duping a human being whose focus is rightly on the business.

  • If we are to successfully repel such attacks, training is essential, but so are cutting-edge defensive technologies.

  • With 83% of UK attacks in 2021/22 starting with email as the initial attack vector, preventing impersonation attempts and malicious links or attachments from reaching your end-users strong email security has never been more important.

  • Further, the UK Gov Cyber Breach Survey 2022 recognises these figures are likely underreported amongst SMEs who are typically less able to identify attacks.
